PRESS RELEASE: Bill Beigel Launches WW2 Casualties Database

WW2 Research Inc and Research Expert Bill Beigel Launch WW2 Casualties Database
Searchable database honors U.S. WWII casualties, connects families to facts about the fallen

TORRANCE, CALIFORNIA. November 27, 2017 — WW2 Research Inc founder and research expert William L. “Bill” Beigel has announced the launch of his WW2 Casualties Database. The database has launched with more than 100,000 names and other vital information on U.S. WWII casualties. When complete, the database will include all 407,000 American service members who died in active duty in World War II. The database will be the first complete, public, and searchable online resource to include all U.S. WWII casualties, with corrections to some of the errors in the historic listings at the National Archives.

Beigel’s research shows that more than a million people search online annually for information about WWII casualties.

Beigel plans to publish his WW2 Casualties Database in two phases. Phase I is in-progress, publicly available, and free to use. The database is searchable by name, rank, serial number, branch of service, hometown, county, state, and type of casualty. Search results can be sorted on any field, so that family members, students, researchers, historical groups, genealogists, and others, can look up information within groups of service members, as well as individuals. Users can request a quote for full-service research or for research assistance once they locate a name in the database whose records they hope to locate. Phase II will include a dedicated page for each individual, with as many details as are known about that person’s service and sacrifice in WWII, and may include a subscription model or access fee to access in-depth content.

To date, Beigel has self-funded the entire project and is now opening the project to contributions. The project cost is about $.25 per individual entry. Anyone can contribute at https://www.ww2research.com/help-build-database/.
